The series of photos of Kwestura at the preview have a lot of meaning for me.

Firstly Christine and I are very connected to this mare because she is the 3/4 sister to KORDELAS. Same sire, Kwestura is out of Kordelas' half sister. We have seen her win Championships in several different venues on two continents and it has been a matter of pride to us. She was beautiful in the previews and comported herself with pride and intelligence.

Secondly, it was Christine's and my honor and privalege to meet Richard Patterson for the first time. We had read much about him and the Patterson program. We had meet Kay in Poland in 1997. Our first pure Polish horse ALGONKWIN (Bask X Alpaga by Celebes) had been bred by them. Monogramm had been bred by them and we have one of their broodmaresSALUTKA (Negatraz X Sala i by Czort) in our program . I was thrilled for him to be presented along with this beautiful mare as the breeder of Monogramm. What more could a Polish breeder ever want but to return to Poland and see the beautiful sons and daughters of a stallion you bred gracing the Polish program. This is a true tribute.

Thirdly, I see Ursula Bialbok, who is the Breeding Manager at Michalow and the real brains behind the matings. It must be a very mixed feeling for her, the pride of accomplishment mixed with loss of a mare of such quality. I know that Ursula is quite fond of this line because she always asks about Kordelas each time I see her.

I believe his plan is to take ELLANDA to Sisters and breed her. He was asking questions regarding Monogramm, so I think that was a big hint. He didn't tell me specifically why he selected Ellanda but as I mentioned in my little write up on Ellanda, she had a very old and high quality pedigree that he would have recognized and appreciated.
