| 2008 National Champion TA Etoile - bred & owned by Toskhara Arabians! |
|
|
TA ETOILE (*Kordelas X *Eufilina by Pepi) was named 2008 US National Champion Reined Cow Horse. TA ETOILE is the son of the Michalow bred stallion *KORDELAS (Monogramm X Kabala by Palas) and the Janow Podlaski bred mare, EUFILINA (Pepi X Eurazja by Wist). He was bred and is owned by Toskhara Arabians of Aubrey, Texas.
To win this Championship Etoile had to qualify in Open Reining and also Open Working Cow. He had to compete in the Open Reining and then compete in the Open Working Cow. The horse entered with the highest total points from the first goes in each discipline was the National Champion.
We are extremely proud of Etoile and his accomplishments. He was one of the three Kordelas progeny imported to the US when we moved from England. The other two have also done well but Etoile has been exceptional. He started his career as a late two year old when we started him in reining training. Fourteen months later he went Top Ten at Scottsdale in the $50,000 Reining Futurity as a four year old competing mostly against five year olds. Later that year he was named Top Ten in Futurity Reining at the US Nationals once again as a four year old. He was trained and shown in Reining by Anthony Champion.
The following spring he started Working Cow training with Bob Hart. Prior to that we had him xrayed from the stifles and knees down, the vet couldn't find any damage. He was named Top Ten at Scottsdale earlier this year in Working Cow and qualified for Nationals. He then returned to Anthony to be tuned up in reining and to get qualified. He posted two 70's at Mayfest which qualified him for Nationals. Qualifying in either Reining or Working Cow horse takes a talented horse with a lot of training. Etoile did it in style.
When he was foaled Christine said I am going to call him "Etoile" because it means star in French and he's going to be one. Christine's forecast was accurate. Etoile has been trained and shown by two very talented horsemen Anthony Champion and Bob Hart but it takes a talented athlete and a brave heart to win in this division.
TA Etoile is a demonstration of the athleticism, trainability, soundness and beauty of the Polish Arabian horse.

| Wicked Woods Dispersal Sale |
|
|
UPDATE — OCT. 1, 2008:
Wicked Woods Arabian Stables has sent the following horses to the ADDIS Equine Auction - Tradition 12 held in Springfield, OH November 6-8, 2008. The Auction will be held at Champions Center, Clark County Fairgrounds, Springfield, Ohio. For details of all the beautiful horses and stables participating in this event please see the ADDIS Equine Auction Official website at www.addisequineauctions.com.
WWAS has teamed up with Jason Chiles of Legend Hall Arabians, New Carlisle, OH. Jason will be presenting the following of our horses at the ADDIS Tradition 12 Auction. Jason can be reached at chiles@legendhallarabians.com.
We hope you can come and show your support for the Pure Polish Arabian Horse! See you there! Please visit us at our website, www.wickedwoodsarabianstables.com or call anytime, (802) 316-6227 (cell).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wicked Woods Arabian Stables located in Champlain, New York is having a dispersal sale. Unfortunately we are being forced to move across country by October 10, 2008.
We raise pure polish Arabians and have excellent breeding stock with pedigrees listing, Bandos, Aladinn, Palas, Gondolier, Concensus, Monticello and Fantastka. Please look at our website at www.wickedwoodsarabianstables.com. We also have additional photos and video for most of our horses on the pedigree page.
If you are looking for young mares for either breeding stock or performance and show prospects please check out FORDONNA (Fordon X Preima Donna) a three year old beautiful grey filly, or CZENTURIANNE (Ensignia X Czantoria) a four year old grey filly with a beautiful head and lots of trot.
We also have more mature mares such as CZANTORIA (Cable Cowboy X Czarmane) an eight year old gorgeous grey mare that is a proven broodmare and excellent pleasure and trail mare for all ages as well as DORAABELLA (A Wish SFF X Doraa) a flashy seven year old bay mare with lots of pizzazz. Czantoria is shown in the top left photo.
Not to leave the Wicked Boyz out of the picture we have QUIDAM (Fordon X Princess Jadi) and eleven year old grey gelding that has had 10 months of formal reining training and is also an excellent trail horse. PRIME ZAR (Alkazar X Preima Donna) is a beautiful dark bay five year old gelding just started under saddle that will make a great competitor. If you are looking for your own training project we have two eight year old geldings that have not yet been started under saddle. This isn't their fault!! I've had several surgeries and a child born in the last six years and was never able to get these two boys into training. BAHMA is a 16H+ registered 1/2 Arabian, more accurately 15/16 Arabian with a cross to Standard bred. He is by Fordon and out of JA Cebiona. JA Cebiona can be found when "googled" and had a respectable career as an endurance competitor out west in her youth. BAHMA will make a great sport horse competitor. His half brother, FANTASTK IO (Fordon X Qis Mah) is an eight year old registered purebred gelding with a great trot, very typey head and very gentle. Both BAHMA and IO are at significantly reduced prices because we know that their future owners will be providing the training and it is most important to us that they go to homes that will care for them and challenge them with a training program where I know they will excel.
If you are interested in obtaining your own breeding stallion with a performance future we have CZANDON (Fordon X Czantoria) a two year old grey stallion with a beautiful head, big eye, tea cup nose, etc. We will have to geld CZANDON by the end of September 2008 if we have not found a farm that wishes to take advantage of his great bloodlines. Again due to his age and the fact that he has not had much formal training we will let him go for a fraction of his worth to the right home. He ties, stands to have his feet trimmed, and has all the basic groundwork manners and is ready to move on with some further formalized training. He has also been turned out with geldings and mature mares and has great pasture manners.
Finally we have a great stallion named Fordon (shown at left). Fordon is by Eternit PASB and Fantastka. Fantastka was imported from Poland after winning the Polish National Champion Halter Mare. She was pregnant with Fordon when she was imported and sold at auction for the most ever paid for an Arabian Mare at Auction in 1985 $240,000.00+. Fordon has a pedigree unequaled in the United States and is available for lease to the right breeding program. He has also been trained to use a "phantom" and has been collected for Artificial Insemination programs. Please come see us, you don't want to miss this great opportunity. Contact Jackie by Cell 24/7 at (802) 316-6227
You can find our stallions, geldings and mares listed in the Marketplace. These are just a few of our horses available shown here. |

| WA Borkata Finishes Her First Endurance Ride |
|
|
The four year old WA Borkata, by WA Pejczyk and out of the late *Boruta (Alegro x *Borowina) bred by Janow Podlaski finished her first 25 mile endurance ride this weekend with 16 year old Kara Wintersteen. What makes this feat even more impressive, is Borkata's last race was 5 1/2 furlongs just over a month ago at Arapahoe Park! In addition to racing and endurance, Borkata has successfully competed in halter, hunter pleasure and sport horse in hand. Last year, Borkata was named Region VIII Reserve Champion SHIH, also with Kara at the lead.
One thing is certain, endurance is NOT racing. We have never heard of anyone going the wrong way at the track. The same cannot be said for the Wintersteen's first endeavor into endurance. In fairness, seemed to be an epidemic with a lot of the competitors and that was the major complaint heard around the water trough. Kara and "Katie" needed to stay with their sponsor for the ride because of Kara's age. Liz Wheeler was kind enough to help us out in this regard on her gelding Sparky, and Liz's years of experience were certainly welcome. Liz is 70 years young and logged hundreds of miles on the trail! The duo of Liz and Kara, however, put in far more than the required 25 miles making not one, but two wrong turns. Regardless, they finished 2nd and 3rd in the Colorado Breeders Cup event, that, had they not done the extracurricular riding, probably otherwise could have won.
Live and learn, a frustrated Kara vows to come back next year without the sponsor requirements and get it done right. As for the horse, Katie looked like she was just getting warmed up at the 12 mile vet check, but a series of wrong turns and pushing hard at the end left her a little tired. Having spent the summer at the track, we could almost see her asking, "What kind of race is this anyway?"
There maybe horses with glitzier championships on the farm, but few compare to dad's blue collar filly -- none have done more in different event after event, the epitome of Arabian versatility. WA Borkata is owned and bred by Wintersteen Arabians.

| Welcome Diamond Crest, Inc. Arabians |
|
|
Arabian Horses for Pleasure, Endurance & Sport
DiamondCrest Inc. Arabians is celebrating its 18th Anniversary breeding and racing Arabians. The farm was established as a breeding operation for Arabian Racing. DiamondCrest is dedicated to the continuation of beautiful, purebred, performance pedigreed horses with a strong concentration of proven racing blood.
Our foremost dedication is to the welfare of the equines. Our program is focused on the development of their talents, and the promotion of Arabians in horse racing and Arabian sport disciplines throughout the United States. DiamondCrest, Inc. horses continue to earn recognition in dressage and endurance, as well as in racing.

A little history...
In May of 1995, I traveled to Poland. My husband and I had purchased *Szalka, (*Eleusis x *Sala x Czort), and her great son, NF Proof+/ (in partnership), at Scottsdale in 1994 as well a some foundation mares from Sheila Varian, including the dam of Desperado V, Daraska. (*Dar x Holly Bask x *Bask). I was eager to see the Polish mare lines which I had only studied in pedigree books.

Thereafter, I have admired the great breeding of Polish Arabians and the diligence of the Pole's in maintaining standards for decades. We also, had the great joy of taking care of *Ekstaza, in her last year of life. (She had previously foundered in NY and the manager of the farm, Kay Daniels, knew we would treasure her in her last years.) She was the most elegant mare, I have ever laid eyes on. Not of great size but enormous presence and beauty. We grieved her loss.
I am a firm believer in the power of performance for the continuation of breeding stock. They may not always be fast enough to be a Stakes horse but, they must be sturdy, intelligent and willing- in order to stay together during the demands of training and competing for this discipline.

Our breeding program was founded
on classic bloodlines
handed down
by Polish master-breeders
who were dedicated
to producing beautiful,
yet athletic horses. And the future belongs
to those who believe
in the beauty of their dreams.
Our future is at our stud.
With a strong and
ever growing steadfastness
built upon the traditions of the past.
About 25 years ago, when I still was a college student, I ended up in Amsterdam.
I escaped from the city life and went for a bike-ride in the country.
Cycling through the smooth Northern 'Polders' (low hills, wide views), my
attention was drawn by some beautiful horses, playing in a field. Since I'd always been a passionate horse admirer and occasionally jumped a
fence too, I couldn't resist contacting the owner of the horses,
who luckily was residing in a very nearby mansion.
It was then that I've met Mr. R. Den Hartog Sr., who opened the door
when I was on my quest for knowledge. Surprised, yet somewhat charmed by my enthusiasm, he agreed in showing me
around at the Kossack Stud. I admired all those lovely horses, not knowing I'd ended
up at Europe's biggest and most successful stables.

With some flyers and magazines and a pile of 'Arabian Horse World'
I finally returned to Amsterdam.
'Arabitis' had gotten a hold of me. It was a virus that would
never let go of me. A passion that has ignited and
only has increased since that very day.
Up until now, I've dedicated all my time and energy to the quest of knowledge
about the fabulous and glorious history of this brilliant horse...
and I will continue in doing so, for as long as possible. The passion and love, the dedication in my caring and concerns,
merely are a reflection of what I have received already.
"An Arabian will take care of its owner as no other horse will,
for it has not only been raised to physical perfection,
but has been instilled with a spirit of loyalty
unparalleled by that of any other breed."

| Congratulations to BONNE VIVANT and ASA Farm |
|
|
ASA Farm is pleased to announce that
BONNE VIVANT, their PURE POLISH stallion
(Monogramm x Bonne Cherie by *Bandos x Bonfieree-*Bask++ x *Boltonka)
was named
REGION 15 CHAMPION STALLION SPORT HORSE
BONNE VIVANT had the highest sport horse
score of the Region 15 show thanks to Larry Jones' talented training
and conditioning of this magnificent stallion!
Here is his video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCYQKU8GbKc
We would like to thank the wonderful team of Jonesborough Farm, consisting of
Larry and Rie Jones, and Lee Heflin for the wonderful job conditioning and training BONNE VIVANT, and Tomasz Skotnicki for breeding such a wonderful
stallion! And, of course, we would like to thank God, for leading us to this
beautiful stallion!
His foals are superlative and his first daughter shown, ASA Hannah, won her
first halter class (main ring) straight out of the pasture! (That's what a good Polish
horse should be able to do!) They all inherit his upright long, hooky neck, lots of trot,
and lovely head with big eyes, correct legs and structure.
God bless the Polish horses and the people who love them...

| Congratulations to *Equifor & Canterbury Farm |
|
|
*Equifor (*Gazal al Shaqab x *Eqviria by Pers) was named Region 15 Champion Stallion in a good class of stallions. He was shown by Larry Jones, and spectacularly. Larry showed the five year old stallion in this, his second US showing, with no whip and with a captive chain (chain not touching the horse's jaw). It was a delight to see such an energetic and "all-male" stallion being shown to his brilliance. The crowd loved it and they expressed their pleasure at the rapport that Larry and *Equifor have. *Equifor was himself, with his exuberance, big trot, and being an outright classy horse.
Later after the class, Rie Jones' elderly mother in a wheelchair, came to see him in his stall. It brought tears to the eyes, when Larry opened *Equifor's stall, and *Equifor reached his head down to say hello, with the softest eyes, and let her touch his face. THIS is what an Arabian is about.
In the same class was Elikzir (*Ganges x Ularia by * Europejczyk), a three year old chestnut stallion bred by Canterbury Farm and sold to Patti Murphy. Elikzir was Region 15 Top Five Stallion. A good showing for Elikzir and congrats to Patti (a Korona Member).
Pat and Fritz Paul, of Culpeper, VA, (Korona Members) also showed their horses with Larry Jones to high honors.
DBA Saiwojski (*Wojslaw x Saikana by *Aikon) was Region 15 Reserve Champion Sport Horse Stallion in Hand. He is a two year old! He is a look alike son of the treasured *Wojslaw.
Their other two year old, the filly DBA L Pemargo (*Goliat x Penkana by *Penitent), was Region 15 Sport Horse Champion Mare in Hand. She also crossed over and was Region 15 Top Five Champion in main ring halter. This is the joy of Polish horses....they can do both. She is by our foundation stallion, *Goliat, the premier *Eukaliptus son in the US.
Congratulations to the Pauls for their fine horses of their breeding program!
Region 15 was fun and lots of new people stopped by the stalls. It was delightful to meet new people and put faces with names. Much thanks to Larry Jones for his superb work to make the horses happy and show with brilliance by joy and cooperation and not intimidation. Stunning difference. Thanks also to Rie Jones, Steve Pekary, Lee Heflin and her "Bat-Dog" Mally, George Zbyszewski, and Marek Trela, director of Janow Podlaski....and all of those who were cheering for *Equifor! He really is a special horse and it does take a village!
*Equifor is on lease from Janow Podlaski for another year. One might think of breeding to him still in 2008 because one will definitely want a second one the following year! Come see his foals....his babies are gorgeous!

| *Emanor Daughter WA Miss Emaranta Wins! |
|
|

July 11, 2008
Sometimes trendy bloodlines, and youthful energy are just no match for traditional breeding and experience. The 7 year old *Emanor daughter WA Miss Emaranta showed her younger rivals how to get to the wire first, winning a 51/2 furlong test at Arapahoe Park. Under jockey Kim Collier, the big gray mare broke alertly but then settled back her more usual racing style off the pace.
"She was just moving so relaxed, I just let those other two [Finally Sue and Miss Dancer] go on, just wanted to stay close. As we were by the 3/8ths pole and coming onto the turn, they just started coming back to us." states Kim. "I let Emaranta out a notch but she didn't respond at first, then I shook the reins and yelled, 'Come on Em, lets go get this thing.' She just took off. When we made the lead about mid stretch, I was just smiling, laughing, and kept saying, 'Come on girl, you're gonna be a winner!' I am just really happy for the Wintersteen's, she is a great mare.

Ricky Collier, husband of Kim, took over training responsibilities while regular trainer Jeff Wintersteen was out of town. "Ricky has done a great job with her, especially adapting to our idiosyncrasies of liking to have the mare on the farm. After the 3rd she ran, it was just hard to take her away from them [Colliers']. I couldn't be happier they got it done for her."
"Ricky and I talked earlier, we really liked our chances today, especially if she could be close late. Emaranta is just a game mare, if we could get her near the finish with a chance, I felt confident she would get it done", relates Jeff.
"This is just so exciting," says Bonnie Wintersteen, "we love this mare, I am so happy what she has done. To show up and better the Line Dancers and French horses just shows a good Polish horse can hold their own, some days far more." Bred by Wintersteen Arabians, WA Miss Emaranta is out of foundation mare Melissa SA, daughter of one of the last *Bandos sons Bandit SA and out of Canadian TT Mare in both Halter and English Pleasure, Mustamagic. Emaranta will be retired at the end of the summer to broodmare duties, her planned mating for 2009 is *Piaff. This is her sire *Emanor's first winner on the track.
This will not be the only family of Melissa SA on the Colorado track this summer, grand son of Melissa SA, WA Maksimum, by *Ganges is showing great promise and scheduled to make his debut in the COBRA Juvenile in August.

| Wintersteen Bred Horses Find Success at Estes Park! |
|

|
Wintersteen bred horses found success at Estes Park Class A Show during
the holiday weekend. Not only was it a great weekend for horses from
the farm, but especially the foals out of our premier broodmare Estansia
by Monogramm. The weekend started with her *Ecaho son WA Emfatyk (at left) named
Grand Champion Stallion in his first outing as a three year old. This
win was followed with Estansia's WA Pejczyk daughter, WA Elegancja,
winning her class and was then named Reserve Champion Mare for owner
Tisa Meisel. In addition, Estansia's youngest foal to date, the
yearling WA Epic, also by WA Pejczyk, won his gelding class and Reserve
Champion Gelding.
The next morning, WA Elegancja (at lower left) won her 5th Colorado Breeders Cup
Championship, this time in Sport Horse in Hand! The four year old mare
has previously won three in halter and one in hunter pleasure titles in
the Colorado Breeders Cup. She will return this fall to defend her
hunter pleasure championship at the CBC show finale in October. Also of
note, WA Epic won the Reserve Champion Colorado Breeders Cup Sport Horse
in Hand against all older horses, bested only by WA Pejczyk gelding GF
Jet Stream. GF Jet Stream was bred and is owned by GF Force Arabians.
Estansia was bred by Bishop Lane Farms and out of the Michalow bred
*Erwina, imported by Heidi Sause. Estansia is currently in foal to
recent Polish import *Hun.

*Bint Arkona (Czaprak x Arkona) passed away June 4, 2008 at the age of 28.
She was bred by Eric Erlandsson in Sweden, imported to the US in 1983. She was purchased as a three year old by Billie Glosser (Love N' War Arabians) where she spent the rest of her life.
Her first foal by Gdansk+/, Keeter, is a multi champion English Pleasure horse going Top Ten at US Nationals, with many Regional championships. He then began a career of Pleasure Driving, with continued success.
Her second foal a mare, Jetta Bey, by the *Bask son, Dynamis, was shown at halter as a two year old placing second in a class of eleven.
Bint Arkona had 8 foals, she was not bred to capacity because of the lagging Arabian Market during her productive years. Her last two foals Dynabliss 2004 (Dynamis/Bask) and Arkair 2005 (Gawn/Wiking) are in training for performance.
*Bint Arkona was a treasure and will be missed greatly.

| Canterbury Farm welcomes new foals by *Equifor! |
|
New foals: Pianista, Zabawka & Eligia
Our newest addition is PIANISTA (*Equifor x Palatyna by *Goliat x Palapejczyk by *Europejczyk) She is going to be grey, and is one of those who make you know that this really IS a good life with horses! Her mother is a gorgeous black bay mare so I thought the filly would stay bay...but little white hairs are appearing around the eyes. No matter what color, she is going to be special...and doesn't even need to be clipped for photos... Obviously Palatyna will be bred back to *Equifor. His foals are all upright, long legged, ultra typey, and very fancy.
The next filly is ZABAWKA (*Equifor x Zabrynka by *Goliat x Zabrina VF by Wizjon). The mother is triple *El Paso breeding and is also the dam of Cindy and Bruce Carpenter's Zegas. Zabawka (meaning toy or plaything in Polish) is ultra exotic, and in spite of the color she appears to be, she too will be grey. She is amazing at the trot. Both Zabawka and Pianista are out of *Goliat (*Eukaliptus) daughters...he is a superb sire of broodmares...and obviously they cross with *Equifor.
The next filly is definitely grey, and is ELIGIA (*Equifor x *Egeria by *Eukaliptus x Emigracja by Palas). She is now about ready to be weaned in a month, so this is another foal photo. Lots of similarity in all of the heads. Not Stuart Vesty photos, but alas, one does one's best! This filly is out of a full sister to the three Polish National Champion Mares, Emigrantka, Emanacja and Erlanda, so carries on the famous Michalow "E" family.
Final filly photo (at left) is of *Montana's yet to be named 2- day-old grey daughter. *Montana is by *Wojslaw out of Matnia by Palas. This filly is equally as exotic as the others; yet of great importance was a compliment paid to the whole group when a very knowledgeable friend first spoke of the superbly straight and correct legs and super bodies on all the foals...later they said that the foals had nice heads. No feet, no legs, no substance, no hip, no horse. These foals are proving that *Equifor is not just a pretty face but he is bred to be a breeding stallion for the future. He is definitely that!
*Equifor is in training with Larry Jones in Culpeper, VA. He will be standing at stud there and be shown this year. Please direct inquiries to Larry to see *Equifor. He will be making his US debut at the Virginia AHA Culpeper show on June 6. Come see this world class stallion! Please direct breeding and sales information to Canterbury Farm and to visit to see his foals. So far 12 foals by *Equifor born at CF....8 fillies. Now I LIKE those odds!

| Introducing Peyd N Gold |
|
|
After 17 purebred foals, WA Pejczyk's first half Arabian hit the ground a
few days ago out of a Quarterhorse mare. The color is a little shocker
to me used to the norm of bays or grays, but the owner/ breeder is
thrilled. This palomino colt will be named, "Peyd N Gold", appropriate
I think. Definitely a Pejczyk, with the tight ears, poll and structure,
though admittedly he's a little more AQH looking in an already
substantial rear end. Janow and Bialka still breed half Arabians, so
seemingly appropriate for Pejczyk to dabble as well. The cowboy in dad
is tickled with this western version of a Polish half Arabian and is
already making the rounds to some reining trainers.

|
Just a little brag from me.....At the 2008 All Arabian Show in WA over the Easter weekend, I was delighted to have presented for me three horses.
Valdemar Lea whom was pictured in the Korona news with his dam Padrons Leah, was presented to win Champion foal, his first show. (Sire: Valor x TR Viktor (Nariadni/Muscat cross, out of El Shaklan/Russian mare))
Bint Nadia - Sire: TS Al Malik (USA Res.Ch & Aus. Ch. Stallion) Dam: Greengrove Nadia (Barabas - Nadejni/Pesniar daughter) x G Ludmilla (Nimroz (Moment) x Vnuchka (Aswan) was awarded Champion Senior Mare & eventual Supreme Senior Purebred Exhibit. Also performed under saddle to narrowly miss being awarded The Ultimate Purebred Arabian Award which she won in 2007.
Halimas Amber Gem - Sire: Sanadik Ibn Estopa, Dam sired by Prince Fa Moniet (USA dec.d) out of daughter of ALII (USA) & Yanah Ibn Estopa. This gorgeous girl was awarded Champion Junior Filly & eventual Supreme Junior Exhibit.
To say I was excited would be an understatement. My team is just quite simply awesome.....Thank you to Cheryl & the ultimate team.
More exciting news is the very unique to Australia Greengrove Sasha Sire: Narim (Moment x Malpia) Dam: Vnuchka (Aswan x Nesravnennaja (Salon x Neposeda) has successfully tested in foal to the newly imported UK stallion Adras who is by Adres (Drug x Agata) out of Arina (Palas x Arra (Bandos x Arba)) bred by Cullinghurst Stud (Paul & Frances Atkinson and Nadia Howard-Price.) in the UK.
Sasha currently has a delightful filly at foot sired by Greengrove Vussja (Simeon Samuel - Jamill x Novina (Aswan x Nemezida)) out of Vnuchka. It just goes to show if one waits long enough those rewards do come round.
Oh & the other really exciting thing is........I am going to Poland!!!!!! This is my lifelong dream to finally visit the homeland of my father & see the Polish State Studs........I can hardly wait for August!
Cheers,

Kelly Arabians has recently purchased the stallion FVA Wonder - *Probat x *Wandaa by Madar, a very correct and pretty Chestnut son of *Probat with a great disposition. He produces very nice foals with beautiful heads and correct conformation.
KAF Mojave a Gallup son out of an Etiw daughter who was out of an MS Santana / Cognac mare also resides at Kelly Arabians. Mojave is a necky upright correct stallion with a wonderful disposition. He is currently on lease.
Both stallions are available for outside breedings. Please contact us if interested.
Also residing at Kelly Arabians are: Shes Likethe Wind - Triple Star x Drucilla by El Paso, Ambitious Miss - Opus One x Amfibias Clasix, Mattell KAF - Gallup x Bint Caliban and KAF Frabaska - Bru-Bet Bask x Bint Caliban
I have owned horses since 1971 acquiring Arabians since approx 1974 and residing on a very old dairy farm in North East Pennsylvania which has been in the family since 1843. I am currently working on updating the farm and the barns.
I believe we need to perpetuate and promote the old Polish blood we still have available, they are the foundation and we should never forget them.

| Diwa Dwa |
|
|
The last great gift from *Wojslaw was born Monday morning, March 24th, at 9:00. This was the only *Wojslaw foal due this year, and the Last of the Last. The foal is a gorgeous, ultra exotic, chestnut filly....and temporarily named "Diwa Dwa" (Diva II in Polish).
Her dam is PA Gazelle (*El Ghazi x *Diana by Probat). She is the only pure Polish *Diana daughter in the USA. Gazelle gave birth to full sister, Diwa, in 2005, an exceptional *Wojslaw filly, reputed to be his best. The new filly is virtually a twin, both have the same high quality, type and size, but also in markings which are inexplicably almost identical.
Gazelle also had an upright, big trotting, bay full brother to the fillies, Doktryn, in 2007, who is quite masculine and is also very exciting with his spectacular action.
This cross has been exceptional, and karmic, propitious, blessed, and has defied the fates.
*Wojslaw was breeding Gazelle, the only time he covered her, when he died instantly from a brain aneurysm. A sad and sudden taking of his life. He was my stallion of perfection. He left after only four years at my farm, after waiting for years and years to purchase him from Michalow Stud. By Arabian horse terms, he was still young at 21. It was such a shock and he was apparently in good health, dancing on his toes on the way to breed. He was an incredible stallion and I painfully miss his nobility, spectacular presence, his huge luminous eyes alive with controlled energy, his perfection in structure...and his Being.
Two and a half weeks later, with my heart in my throat, Gazelle was checked to see if she was pregnant...a thread of a hope drifting in the wind that she would be. At the time, the excellent repro vet that is used by the farm had unfortunately suffered a heart attack. So, a fairly inexperienced young vet was standing in and did an ultrasound exam. Gazelle was declared not pregnant. It just didn't seem to be true, for it was his best cross, and it was the last chance..... NO! It can't be! So, I waited another three weeks, and she still did not come into heat. I had her examined again by ultra sound. Same result along with the vet giving encouragement to give the mare prostaglandin to bring her into heat.
Something told me not to do that, so I refused the idea without hesitation. Then waited and watched for another month and a half. Still no heat. Finally, the regular vet returned to a limited practice and was here one day to look at other mares. I told him that Gazelle had been checked twice...neither time in foal, but would he "humor me" and look himself. So he did.....and announced that there was a huge, normal, healthy conceptus with a strong heartbeat inside!
Follow the heart, the instinct, and the winds of life!
So too sweet Gazelle, whom I purchased sight unseen based on her pedigree, gave her gift.... and "Diwa Dwa" is sleeping soundly in fresh new straw under the watchful gaze of her mother...and perhaps also by her generous and glorious sire, *Wojslaw.
This filly is a miracle...and she will be forever treasured.
And these are the real reasons for having horses....Oh, Joy!

| New Addition at Crossen Arabians |
|

|
The newest addition to Crossen Arabians' equine family was born March 22 at 8:30 a.m. A bay filly out of CA Chelsea (Aladdinn) and sired by LBA Lodestar+++, (Fame VF (Bey Shah) X LBA Anastasia (Barbary). LBA Lodestar+++ is a National Western Pleasure Champion as well as a multi-Top Ten in Halter Champion. He is also the sire of numerous National Western Pleasure Champions.
CA Chelsea, owned and bred by Crossen Arabians, is also the dam of Pikasso CA+/, a 2007 Sport Horse National Reserve Champion in First Level Dressage and Top Ten in Second Level. He is also a AHA Legion of Supreme Honor recipient.
With these Champion producing bloodlines, we expect this filly will have great potential in a variety of disciplines or be an asset to any breeding program. She is a long legged beauty with great angles and smooth floaty gaits. Additionally, she has a wonderful personality.
Still haven't as yet thought of a suitable name.

Susan Crossen

| Sad News From Janow Website |
|
We have received sad news that Janow-bred stallion Penitent has passed away on the 19th of February, at the age of 29. Penitent was a Polish National Champion Stallion and European Champion Stallion. In 1988 he was exported to the US (Dunromin Arabians).
Among his get in Poland are such stars and excellent broodmares as Michalow bred: Kawalkada (US Nat. Champion Mare), Palestra - the dam of Prognoza, Palestyna and Palmira, Palba (Towerlands Champion Mare) and Dracena. Michalow bred Penitent son Eldon (Polish National Champion Stallion and European Champion Stallion) has prolonged the sire line, mainly through his Janow bred son Piaff (Polish National Champion Stallion).

| New Filly Arrives at Toskhara Arabians |
|

|
Toskhara Arabians is thrilled to announce the arrival of a Polish filly out of the mare SALUTKA (Negatraz X Sala by Czort) x Favoritt (Monarch AH x Fawora by Fawor) 1986 bred by the Pattersons, Sisters OR.
We had purchased Salutka from Kay in 2005 and Christine and Dr. Morris struggled from that time to get Salutka in foal. Several times she became pregnant but slipped the foal between 45 and 90 days. This time Salutka was in foal and in foal and in foal. She was in foal for almost 13 months. She looked OK, but wasn't super big, Christine observed the foal kicking so we just let nature take her course.
She delivered a healthy filly, but the filly certainly wasn't overly mature.
Here is a very proud Salutka.
We are so very pleased to get a filly to continue the wonderful damline of SABELLINA, one of the great racing damlines in Poland. Salutka's dam SALA (Czort X Sabellina by Abu Afas) is a full sister to the great race horse stallin, SAMBOR.
Christine and I discussed at length the decision of breeding her to *Kordelas versus breeding her to Favoritt. Kordelas would carry the foal towards the show ring while Favoritt would be directed at the race track. Both were used on Salutka over the course of the many attempts. The one embryo that survived was this filly by Favoritt.
What is interesting is how pretty the filly is in comparison to either parent.
It is really heart warming to see these older mares with their foals. They really appreciate them more. This is only Salutka's 2nd foal. She had a daughter SELEKTRA by EKAR (Pers X Ekawa by Alcaczar) a Polish stallion that Kay Patterson purchased in 1997 on her last visit to Poland. Kay was the breeder of Seletkra.
We hope this filly has the athleticism and heart to be a great race mare, a fitting tribute to her line.
At the moment whatever she does is closely supervised by Mom.

Pat and Fred Paul of Drybrook Arabians are thrilled with their new colt sired by *Equifor (*Gazal al Shaqab x *Eqviria) out of their treasured broodmare, Saikana (*Aikon x *Saikaa by Saudi).
This pure Polish young colt has been named DBA L Saqui (Saki for short). He is tall, fancy and very typey with an upright long neck and short back. He is the first foal born at their beautiful new farm in Culpeper, Virginia.
They moved last year from Waverly, NY, and are most appreciative of the beauty of the Virginia countryside and the significantly less snowfall! The Pauls also have the spectacular DBA Saiwojski, who is being successfully shown by Larry Jones. This look-alike *Wojslaw son, is a half brother to Saqui and will be campaigned in both Breed Ring and Sport Horse this year.

| *Equifor's first foal at Canterbury Farm |
|

 |
The highest expectations were realized and affirmed when a gorgeous grey filly was born from a treasured mare and by the prized stallion, *Equifor (*Gazal al Shaqab x *Eqviria by Pers).
This stallion is a multi champion in Poland including being Polish Res. National Champion Junior Stallion. He is on lease from Janow Podlaski to Canterbury Farm. Bred to be a sire as well as a show horse, he has proven the wisdom of Director Marek Trela.
This filly, named ELIGIA (meaning to choose or choice) is from the world famous family of Estokada, which is the "E" family from Michalow. Eligia's dam is the beautiful *Egeria (*Eukaliptus x Emigracja by Palas), the only full sister in the USA to the International Champions and Polish National Champions Mares, Emigrantka (dam of Polish NC Emigrant and US NC Mare, *El Dorada), Emanacja (dam of US & Polish NC Stallion *Emanor and mares Emilda and Emanda) and of Erlanda (dam of Champion *Elandra).
So, Eligia is the result of breeding the best of the contemporary bloodlines from Janow with those of the "E" family from Michalow. She is eclectically 100% pure Polish. Eligia is tall, long legged, with a short back, great topline and with an ultra long neck from both *Equifor and *Eukaliptus and an exotic head and huge well set eyes. Already she shows trot, and a big time "look at ME" attitude.
Needless to say, *Egeria will be bred back to *Equifor. Eighteen more *Equifor foals are due at the farm in 2008, and to such mares as Walencia (*Goliat x *Wilejka by *El Paso), Panda VF (*Bandos x *Pandemonium by Palas), *Edessa (*Wojslaw x Empressa), *Pieparta (Partner x Pieczec), *Elwara (*Arbil), Zusza (*Penitent) and *Weltawa (*Arbil x *Wilejka).
Watch for Eligia in the show ring in a year!

We have had a busy year topped off by some good news. Most satisfying was a phone call from Judy Sewall of Bath, Maine reporting her victory aboard GBA Karakoram in the Crooked River 30, a thirty mile endurance contest in Waterford, Maine last fall. What makes this particularly newsworthy is that Karakoram (Citadel x Aristo Kailasa -- Ariston), one of the first foals of our first mare, is now nineteen years old, and his owner, a cancer survivor, kept going all through her chemotherapy. Our profound admiration and respect goes to both. We send along the attached photos of them scrambling and splashing to victory.
We congratulate Shalin and Joseph Foti of Waterbury, Connecticut, on their recent purchase of our lovely gray stallion GBA Kazimier (Monogramm x GBA Americandream -- Bandos). "Kaz" was Region 16 Champion and Nationals Semifinalist in Hunter Pleasure Open, and Region 16 Top Five in Western Pleasure Open. We look forward to watching their continued successes in the future.
Looking ahead, our two geldings, GBA Candyman (The Noblest x CanCan -- Negatraz) and GBA Monaco (Monogramm x Santiera -- Bandos) are progressing nicely in training under the watchful eyes of Bruce and Cindy Carpenter. They are showing off their skills by learning to jump, and their cooperative good natures as they carry around their new rider, a very tiny eight-year-girl. Videos of them are terrific.

Next in line and just starting out are two Wojslaw geldings, GBA Colby (ex CanCan -- Negatraz) and GBA Nikolai (ex Nostalgia, PASB -- Partner). These fellows are real look-alikes -- big, handsome, and great movers. The promise to do us proud.
All of these boys are available to new owners by contacting Glen Brook Arabians, LLC, and can be seen on our website at: www.Glenbrookarabians.com or phone (860) 355 3618.Finally, Our latest pride and joy is GBA Nadja (Monogramm x Nostalgia, PASB), a lovely, big, Godiva Chocolate chestnut filly who charms everyone she meets. Pictures of her will be seen on our website.

| Gallup (Gdansk X Kasacja By Bandos), -- July 3, 1985 to January 22, 2008 |
|

 |
It is with great sadness that Toskhara Arabians announce the passing of GALLUP (Gdansk X Kasacja by Bandos) 1985 bred by Janice Garrard and selected by her as the successor to Gdansk.
Janice always called Gallup the horse most like Gdansk. He was never given an opportunity to show because he was injured in a trailer accident as a young horse when a floor board gave way and his foot fell through to the highway while the trailer was moving. He had nasty scaring and an intense dislike of trailers from that time on.
He produced 61 foals to date (we have two more due in 2008), this is a respectable number given that he was born just as the market collapsed and continue to decline. I only personally have known one Gallup foal but he is a hell of a horse. Beautiful, talented, and willing with a dry sense of humor. I have heard other good things from owners of Gallup progeny.
Our first exposure to Gallup was in 1992 when we looking for a stallion for our mare OH MY ROMANCE (Mi Tosk X WA Silver Lace by The Real Mccoy). Christine found out about Gallup and decided to use him. They produced a lovely colt, now gelded, we named TA RODANSK. He was British National Champion Gelding in 1995, our first major win in Europe. We always had a fondness for Gallup because of his son, pictured here.
It was our honor and privilege to bring Gallup to our herd two years ago when Janice could no longer give him the opportunity she desired for him. He was happy and healthy until last August when he contracted West Nile. He had been vaccinated routinely and we started treatment immediately and he responded well. He never really lost his ability to stand or have significant paralysis. Afterwards however he didn't seem to thrive to the same degree as before. He developed laminitus in one front foot which we were struggling to control. Two days ago we found him down in his stall in the morning. We couldn't get him to stand. We then used a sling to get him on his feet. He couldn't begin to support himself. We began to treat him with the anti-paralysis drug we had used on our West Nile cases to see if he responded. For two days we waited for him to respond but he wasn't getting better he was getting worse and paralysis was beginning to effect his face. Christine made the hard decision to let him go. The vet collected some spinal fluid from the poll and saw that it was cloudy not clear. It is being examined at Texas A&M. We suspect he relapsed to West Nile.
It is always hard to say good-bye but it is made a little easier when they leave some of themselves behind.
This is TA KAISER (Gallup X Katrynna by Triton) 2007 at left with Katrynna.
CHARIZMA SLG (Zambizy X Cordelia MLA by Bikomet) and TA EUKULELE (Algonkwin X Eubia by Wermut) are in foal to Gallup for 2008.
