| The PASSING of a Legend: *EUROPEJCZYK ~ 1982-2005 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
It
is with great sadness that we announce the loss of one of the great Polish
stallions. *Europejczyk (*El Paso x *Europa by *Bandos) had to be put
down yesterday afternoon. He was only 23 years old. Having him in the
barn, and being in his presence over the last 5 years has been a blessing
and an honor. He had such a kind and gentle way about him. It is a tough loss for us, and although he will be greatly missed and irreplaceable, we are thankful to have a couple of wonderful mares in foal to "PJ" for next year. We also have a stunning son of his to continue on, OKW Touche, out of a VF Premonition daughter. He has been started and we are looking forward to showing and breeding him in the future. Kari Wertheimer Oakwerth Arabians
*EUROPEJCZYK was the son of Arabian breed legends: US National Champion *EL PASO, a sire of considerable international influence who still remains one of the best sources of superior structure, balance, stamina and versatile athletic ability; and Polish National Champion EUROPA, full sister to the legendary *EUKALIPTUS and one of the most beautiful and beloved daughters of *BANDOS.
As a sire in both Europe and North America, *EUROPEJCZYK has left an incredible legacy of athletic and accomplished Arabians in all fields of endeavor. Astute breeders know the get of *EUROPEJCZYK are renowned for their inherent quality, well-balanced, solid structure, willing, highly trainable dispositions and exceptional athleticism. These get continue to excel as both performance and breeding horses in the best equine programs around the world, extending his extraordinary legacy for several generations.
The influence of *EUROPEJCZYK was especially prevalent in 2005 with major wins by descendants on four continents: EKSPORT (son) - Brazilian National Champion Stallion; HAKIM (maternal grandson) - Middle East Reserve Junior Champion Stallion; ETNOLOGIA (maternal granddaughter) - Polish Spring Show Junior Champion/Best in Show; MESMERYZ (son) - Youth National Top Ten Hunter & Western Pleasure JOTR 13 & Under; KALISJA (daughter) - Youth National Top Ten Hunter Pleasure Walk/Trot 10 & Under; SPIRYT (son) - Youth National Reserve Champion & Scottsdale Champion Half-Arabian Western Pleasure; ROHARA EUROFIRE (paternal grandson) - Sport Horse National Reserve Champion Sport Horse Under Saddle & National Champion Gelding ATH; ROHARA EURA AMERICAN (paternal grandson) - Canadian National Champion Half-Arabian Hunter Pleasure; EVITAA (paternal granddaughter) - US & Scottsdale Top Ten Half-Arabian English Pleasure; VJ EUROPEAN GOLD (maternal granddaughter) - Regional Champion Park Horse; and RA KICKIT UP ANOTCH (paternal grandson) - US National Champion Half-Arabian Hunter Pleasure Open & AAOTR 40 & Over.
Thank you Poland for gifting the breed with *EUROPEJCZYK. Thank you Wertheimer family for sharing his excellence with us and for caring him so tremendously well. Our sincerest condolences on the loss to the equine world - know that his influence will continue to live on for generations. |

| The Loss of a Legend: *PEPTON ~ 1977-2005 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
It
is with great sadness that we announce the loss of *PEPTON - Polish National
Champion Stallion and Racehorse of the Year, the prototypical "Polish
Powerhouse" who was loved and admired by Arabian breeders around the world.
A royal son of illustrious parents, *PEPTON was considered one of the two premier sons of the legendary Polish sire *BANDOS, the leading male progenitor of the sire line of the desert bred Ibrahim through breed cornerstone SKOWRONEK. BANDOS' dam was the equally legendary "Queen of Poland" - BANDOLA - full sister to the Arabian breed's most successful sire *BASK. Maternally, *PEPTON hails from the highly accomplished dam family of PIEWICA - the famous "P" horses of Janow Podlaski - through his grandam PENZA (dam of *PENITENT) and his athletic, superbly conformed dam *PEMBA a premier daughter of the highly influential racehorse and sire CZORT. Both CZORT & PIEWICA can be credited for
*PEPTON's phenomenal racing ability. His lifetime record of 2/16
(11-4-0-1),
Perfectly conformed with an abundance of
performance ability, *PEPTON was regarded as one of the most structurally
correct and naturally athletic stallions ever used in the Polish breeding
program. In addition to his excellent skeleton and superbly functional
build, *PEPTON was an extremely high quality stallion of exceptional refinement
and beauty, with a distinctive, aristocratic presence, large, dark eyes
and a phenomenally long, high-set, well-arched neck. Prepotent for his
best qualities, *PEPTON has extended his influence around the globe with:
Polish National Champion & US Top Ten Stallion *ECAHO, Brazilian
The daughters of PEPTON have been especially
productive as broodmares, credited with such important international achievers
as: Polish Racehorses of the Year WILIAM and GEPARD, Polish & Swedish
National Champion *FURIAT, Polish National Reserve Champion as well as
European & All Nations Cup Top Five Champion POGANIN; Danish National
Champion & All Scandinavian Reserve Champion FERNANDO; Darley Champion
ONTARIO HF; Sport Horse Top Ten Stallion EDUKT; and Classic Stakes
winners EDYK, FEN, ENIKA, EXCLUSIVE, EFOR, PLASTYKA and ELCANTA. *ECAHO leads the charge as *PEPTON's leading son with World Champion EMANDA, European & Polish National Champion/Best in Show PALMETA, All Scandinavian Champion OLITA and Polish high sellers ELWIA & EBERIA to his credit. Another leading son, *ELSTON, has made his impact as a sire in North America with several National and Regional winners, including US, Canadian and Scottsdale Champion Western Pleasure OSO ARROGANT. Both *ECAHO and *ELSTON are owned by Korona members. Two of the greatest successes of 2005 - the
nearly invincible Polish Racehorse of the Year WIENERVA and the reigning
World Junior Champion Filly EMANDORIA - both trace to *PEPTON in the fourth
generation. Thank you Janow Podlaski and Director Krzysztalowicz for giving us *PEPTON. Thank you George for sharing him with us and for caring him so lovingly. Our sincerest condolences on the loss to the breed - know that his influence will live on for generations. |

| ABBA Baskatiw Acting as Polish Arabian Ambassador | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Thought
we just had to share this great news with everyone! Tommy Garland spotted Dad and "Baskatiw" at the Region 16 Championship Show where Baskatiw garnered two Reserve Championships in Country English Pleasure Driving Open and AOTD. He now has "Baskatiw" in Virginia to ready him for US Nationals and my 81 year young, Dad will being going down for some fine tuning and coaching prior to October in New Mexico!! The notification of these awards is something we have wanted for this once in a lifetime horse since I first set eyes on him. He was 14 and had never been bred trained or shown in anything. Now he is 18 and Dad is 81 and just try and catch up to either one! Good Luck! They think they are teenagers and actually have that kind of energy despite Dad having fought cancer all winter. Taking his "best friend to US Nationals" is the dream that has kept him fighting on the tougher days. With Tommy helping out, the dream will come true and "Mr. B." will go with ads showing his new status!! I am so proud of them both. Just had to share with all of my KORONA friends out there. Thankfully, I can also report that although his oldest get is only 5 years old, each of his progeny is winning consistently in Halter and now in the Performance arenas! Isn't it wonderful that such a fine gentleman is passing his best on to our babies!! There will never be another "Mr. B." if I breed until I am 100 though! He is one in a million. One of the true great ones in every way. There is truly nothing like a Pure Polish Arabian!! Back to the basics. Cordially and with much pride in my Dad and a horse you may all be proud represents the very best of what we all love. Hilary Hume Hinds, V.P./ Owner Windridge Farm Arabians, Inc. |

Wintersteen
horses did very well at the CAHC fall show. The Pejczyk foals, in
particular, won a number of classes and championships. Most notable
in proving his ability at siring fillies, Pejczyk daughters went 1st,
2nd and 3rd in the large (nine entries) Colorado Futurity/ Breeders Cup
class. Of very personal note for our family is the race bred WA
Borkata, Pejczyk daughter and out of Janów Podlaski's *Boruta (Alegro
x Borowina), who won Reserve Champion Colorado Breeders Cup Yearling Filly
in her first show. "Katie" was orphaned last summer at two months.
We are also very proud that a Pejczyk filly and Wintersteen bred WA Elegancja
(out of Estansia by Monogramm) was presented with the Diane Alderson Trophy
for the best yearling filly. It is a pedigree filled with Korona
connections! Also, the necky WA Maksimum by *Ganges was second in
his large class of weanling colts, bested only by a Baskeafire colt.
"Maks" represented himself and the farm well!Be sure to check out all the pics can be seen at www.wintersteenarabians.com and click on "What is New?" in the article section. Be sure to check out the other pics by clicking on "More Pics." |

|
35% *donated To Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund ANY colt listed in the MALE SALE by Canterbury Farm, which can be found listed below, and in my September Arabian Horse World advertisement, is included. I WILL DONATE 35% OF THE SELLING PRICE OF ANY AND ALL OF THESE COLTS TO A REPUTABLE HURRICANE KATRINA CHARITY if sold before the end of the year. ![]() The prices of these colts are from $4000 to $7500, (already extremely reasonable prices) and they are all pure Polish colts of the highest quality pedigrees. Sires include *Ganges, *Wojslaw, *Goliat, *Ellis, *Emanor and others. They are from weanling age to three years old, and are all healthy and beautiful. I will provide buyers of these colts proof that the 35% DID go to Hurricane relief and to a reputable charity. I am now looking into charities of note to see which one gives the most to the PEOPLE and not to administration and so forth. The decision will be posted along with the names of the buyers and the horse they purchased. Those buying will receive xeroxed copies of checks for the 35% as well as copies of the receipts of payment to the charity. NONE of the 35% will go anywhere but to the charity. For a $4000 colt, $1400 will be donated...for a $7500 colt, $2625 will be donated, and for those priced in between, the proportionate amount will be donated. There are 25 colts on the list, and if all sold for the asking prices, there would be over $32,000 donated to Hurricane Katrina Relief! so there can be a tremendous amount of money going to the relief of these people. < This is a super win/win/win/win deal. The buyer gets a super quality colt of pure Polish pedigree. The charity and the victims of the disaster will get a good amount of money and aid. The colts get good homes and owned by caring people. I am happy because the colts are with kind people and we, as Arabian horse owners and admirers have all done something to support our brothers and sisters in this time of need, and have not hindered nor ignored the relief that is necessary and ongoing. We have all be very blessed with these beautiful horses in our lives, and this is the time to go forth and share the abundance....

| WALIDAYT Sold to Australia | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Announcing
that WALIDAYT (validate) has been sold to Shelley Mitchell of Cowry, NSW,
Australia! Shelley and her mother, Carole have been raising top quality Arabians for many years. A few years ago they purchased a superb bay colt of my breeding, from George Zbyszewski/Ron & Mila Hart, named ZMANOR. He is by *Emanor x Zabrina VF by Wizjon. He has done very well for them, and through this sale I was able to meet these wonderful ladies when I lived in California. So, when looking for another stallion to breed to their mares and offspring of Zmanor, they contacted me. They had seen many of my horses including *Wilejka, who they admired greatly. Their selection of a colt from this female line was very important to them, and Walidayt was chosen. Walidayt is by *Ganges (Monogramm x Garonna) and out of *Weltawa PASB (*Arbil x *Wilejka by *El Paso). He is a long legged upright colt with beautiful head, fine neck, superb legs and a long powerful hip. He is full blood brother to Wieza Wiatrow, Polish Junior Res. National Champion Female, and who, at a year old, sold in the Pride of Poland Sale the same year for $220,000. ![]() Wieza Wiatrow is by *Ganges and out of Wiazma (*Arbil x *Wizja by *El Paso). *Wizja and *Wilejka are full sisters. *Wilejka is the dam of Polish National Jr. res. Champion Mare, Wilnianka and Polish National Top Five Mares, *Wybranka, and *Wilenka (both owned by Canterbury Farm) and of course, *Wilejka is the dam of Polish National Champion Stallion, *Wojslaw. Shelley is very excited about the arrival of this fine son of *Ganges and to bringing in new breeding of both sire and dam to Australia. I sincerely wish them the very best with this colt, and will look for their, and his, names up in lights when they start showing Walidayt! CONGRATULATIONS SHELLEY!!! | FAVORITT Wins for Toskhara Arabians
| Back in April,
Christine talked me into to buying the Polish colt FAVORITT (Monarch AH
X Fawora/*Fawor) from Magness Arabians. There was no question that Favoritt
is an excellent race horse as Tomasz Skotniki showed us with videos of
some of his races across the last three seasons. His record was 3,30(10,8,3,6)
with $98,575 in winnings and 5 Stakes wins. He raced for us today at ARAPAHO
race track in Colorado. FAVORITT was the favorite and looked good in winning. As is usual from the tapes we've seen of him the jockey allowed him to settle in near the back and then asked him to move as they started around the turn. He took the lead at the top of the stretch and moved on to win. Kevin Farve is his trainer. Polish horses continue to prove their athleticism and heart in Arabian Racing. I encourage breeders of Polish horses to consider getting into this exciting and lucrative sport. Favoritt has won his owners over $100,000 in prize money something that doesn't happen in showing. | The 2005 *ECAHO Foals Arrive to Universal Praise
The
first *ECAHO foals bred in North America have arrived to overwhelming
enthusiasm by breeders across the continent. Breeder expectations have
not only been met, but exceeded in all instances, with consensus on just
how prepotent *ECAHO is at stamping his get with his distinctive type,
regardless of the genotypic strain or unique phenotype of the dam.As expected, the *ECAHO foals exemplify Arabian type, with beautifully dished, exotically refined and well proportioned heads, large eyes and small tight ears. They are extremely upright - proud, noble and very self-confident - with amazing vigor and energy from the moment they hit the ground. Their innate aristocratic charisma is most evident in their exuberant, naturally high set tail carriage as well as in the way they move, remarkably composed, with a powerful, animated stride. Structurally, they excel from the moment they first stand, with perfect balance, abundant substance and superbly conformed, clean, solid, well defined limbs. They are all uniformly tall and substantial - big and strong, yet with a natural, refined elegance. Like their sire, each foal exudes his magnificent "presence", extending the royal heritage of their predecessors to yet another fortunate generation. To read more about the impact of *ECAHO on breeding programs all across the continent, please visit the *ECAHO website. |

| WA Pejczyk Nominated to Breeders Sweepstakes | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| WA Pejczyk,
son of Polish National Champion *Europejczyk, is being nominated to the
Breeders Sweepstakes in time for the upcoming 2005 foals to be eligible
without a late fee. “Honestly, we didn't want to spend the money if he
wasn't going to make it as a sire. We have been to Poland and seen how many prospects out of hundreds of colts they have. Even with the genotype, phenotype, show and race record there is just no guarantee. With so few foals a year on our farm, we knew the odds were against it,” state Jeff Wintersteen. Pejczyk
bred two outside mares before being used on homebred Colorado Futurity
Champion filly WA Miss Mirabell. “When Mirabell’s filly hit the ground,
it just changed everything. She is spectacular, 7 mares were bred the
next year, almost entirely outside and largely because of that filly!”
Pejczyk’s book has included two imported mares, one from Poland, sister
to National Champion MHR Nobility, 7/8 sister to World Champion Ekstern,
and a Region VIII Champion Yearling. “We were really surprised at the
quality of mares, but Pejczyk rose to the occasion. He has shown consistency,
and ability to improve the mares and himself. His trademark is exceptionally
set necks, long poles, well-coupled, balanced bodies and very correct
legs. He can also deliver with large expressive eyes and the trademark
disposition of the Wielki Szlem sire line and particularly of his sire
*Europejczyk.” The popularity is reaching the boiling point, some of which came from the Arabian Horse Celebration in which Pejczyk was invited to participate in. But the real interest was when his foals hit the show ring as weanlings (and the yearling filly) this fall. “They took home most of the wins against some top notch stallions, Pejczyk was the talk of the show, especially for a “race horse”. The neat thing was we didn’t have 40 foals to choose from. We put them all in the trailer; nothing was hidden back at the farm! When clients are not only rebreeding the first mare, but also booking others, that is pretty neat. We wanted to make sure they had as much opportunity as possible for those foals.” “Pejczyk has really carried the farm, done everything we have ever asked of him. I will never doubt what he is capable of in the future”, concludes Jeff. WA Pejczyk is multiple Halter and Sport Horse in Hand Champion, as well as a race winner on the track. Pejczyk proudly stands at Wintersteen Arabians - please contact the Wintersteens (Bob, Bonnnie & Jeff) for more information. |
