| COMMENTARY |
When Greg Farrell
of internationally renowned MULAWA ARABIAN STUD in Australia began the
search to replace his senior herd sire he knew exactly what he was looking
for. He wanted a stallion who was himself a dynamic individual and who
had the genetic strength to cross well over Mulawa's herd of outstanding
foundation mares. He was looking for that special individual who not only
possessed an exceptional length of neck, the stallion must also have a
strong hip and a lot of leg combined with great movement and a celebrated
pedigree. The stallion he was searching for was *WARRANTY.
A son of U.S. National Champions *Aladdinn and *Wizja and a grandson of
U.S.National Champion *EL PASO, WARRANTY was a well conformed individual
of great style, quality and charisma reflecting his dam's timeless beauty
and his sire's structural integrity and show ring brilliance. For many,
*WIZJA was the mare of the century: correctly conformed, startlingly beautiful
and unmistakably charismatic: the perfect picture of the ultimate Arabian
mare. ALADDINN's achievements as a sire are renowned and well recorded.
To have a son of these two Arabian legends in any breeding program was
truly "a dream come true" WARRANTY was therefore first leased and then
purchased from Lasma Arabians by Mulawa.
WARRANTY arrived in Australia in 1987 and in November of that year he
was judged Champion Stallion and Supreme Exhibit at the New South Wales
National Stud Show. The National is the largest all-Arabian show in the
Southern hemisphere and third largest in the world at the time ( behind
Scottsdale and the U.S. Nationals). WARRANTY's performance was electrifying,
big bold and dynamic he dominated the arena, and gathered a crowd wherever
he appeared. In January of 1988 WARRANTY was awarded the title of Australian
National Champion Stallion in a wonderful demonstration of what the Arabian
show horse should be.
*WARRANTY remained in Australia until 1990 when he returned to the U.
S. to pursue a performance career. Mulawa retained several Warranty daughters
at that time and is currently utilizing him as a sire through the use
of frozen shipped semen. Probably the most significant WARRANTY offspring
in Australia was the son WANTED KE. A beautiful bay stallion possessing
his sire's structural correctness, beauty and charisma, WANTED KE, owned
by King Estate International, won nearly all the major Australian shows,
including the AUSTRALIAN EAST COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS. His reputation as a
sire glows brighter every year. In 2003 The WANTED KE son, SARAJEVO, was
crowned Australian National Champion Stallion. Thus the WARRANTY legacy
in Australia continues with yet another generation of National Champions! |
